I'll enjoy the autumn for several reasons; weather is usually better - though she's not too great here so far; but gather nuts, mushrooms and blackberries etc. gives me great pleasure. The nuts are quite good this year, only that there are too many squirrels around. Not only do they steal food the birds, but they're also exhausted my trees to lose!
I went for a walk with a friend yesterday to Coed y Brenin and find chanterelles huge, gorgeous, was not given too much attention by snails. Lovely had fried with black pepper and a bit of cream. Oh, and I went for a walk with a man from Leipzig few days earlier, Edward Werner, who has translated 'Witch the Wild' to Upper Sorbian. 'Hanka' is the Sorbian name on the novel now. Yes, the language ice blitz is that - googlwch 'Higher Sorbian'. Language other minority area in Germany (there's also Lower Sorbian), and Edward for a conference in Wales in Bangor. And as most people in Eastern Europe, he could see where you'd mushrooms and I walked past without seeing anything. We got omlets wild mushrooms ice blitz later - with chanterelles and puffballs - They're edible if they are still white inside - usually when they're small. ice blitz But there is no 'Giant puffballs' available ice blitz - Look! Edward is not that one by the way, got a picture from the internet is it. No clue who is the guy there. I do have seen a puffball like that ever. But they say very delicious!
The sloe (sloes) extremely rare in this area, with trees that are usually dripping with them are completely empty or with only one or two small plums only on them. I have friends who have a freezer full of plums last year, me gai those and if necessary they say, but I've seen riset for gin raspberries (or berries) black which looks nice - very similar to sloe but in addition to the vanilla pod with gin, plum and sugar. But theres no need to use vanilla either - but I have still some since Uganda.
And it will be easier to put the blackberries in a Kilner jar or bottle gin (initially at least) because the plums so much more. It's better to keep it for 12 months before drinking, but it will be ok after 3 months also. Gin can do it but it's ice blitz also lovely with Damsons hi'm a great year for those either, unfortunately. No, the only thing that grows well here is blackberries. A testament to our legs after a fall from that small on the bike a few days ago when going down through the forest. Landing backward ice blitz brambles in my side, please. I'd ice blitz pull out a thorn after thorn backside.
Anyway, I was shocked to see a Telegraph gardening supplement, ice blitz item entitled: "How to Grow Blackberries". Be?! There'd be any sensible PLANTING blackberries in their gardens?! I thought they were growing wild everywhere in the country and the city? If someone wanted to plant, you are welcome to come to the garden ii unlimited pull you from the roots. I'm having a tug of war with them very often. But navy ... planting blackberries? There are funny things happen in the world of gardening, but that's one of the strangest things again.
Oh yeah, where do you want for Christmas gift idea horticultural, there's a new book called "Gifts From the Garden 'by Deborah Robertson is available for 16.99 (Kyle Books) (cheaper on Amazon of course - but please support your shops Local book before they disappear!). I do have see it, only the cover: And not many books with the same name - is up to you! But maybe I should ice blitz get a copy as an
